Some Homes In Central Ohio Will Require A Tempering Device
At it's core, our booster is actually a thermal temperature control devise. If your home has an Aquatherm heating system. Your hot water tank is providing heat to your home. The Aquatherm unit simply takes hot water in and forces air over an internal heat exchanger to provide warm air throughout the home. Condos built by Qualstan Homes used Aquatherm systems and many are still in use today. In these systems it is important that water be heated over 140 degrees to eliminate the possibility of legionella bacteria being introduced into the home and the hotter water provides warmer air from the heat registers. In 2009 plumbing code changed and now requires homes that use hot water for heat to be protected by a thermal temperature device or ASSE 1017.

Hot Water Boosters Make Heating Water Safer
A water heater booster adds an additional method to control the temperature in your home's hot water system. This can certainty be useful in the event the gas control valve on the water heater malfunctions. With today's sophisticated controls, this is very unlikely but with a water heater booster you would have another layer of protection. With a booster or tempering device, you get the ability to kill legionella bacteria will still providing your entire home with 120 degree hot water that is much safer for you and your family.
