Need A Larger Water Heater But Don't Have The Space For One?

With a non-powered water heater booster installed on your new water heater. You can expect a 25% increase in performance with no additional space needed! A 50 gallon tank will preform like a 75 gallon and a 30 gallon will preform similarly to a 50 gallon model. All with no electricity and our boosters can be installed on virtually any tank style water heater.

Water heater boosters give our customer's even more choices!

Water heater boosters can also be used to allow homeowners to confidently downsize their next water heater. If your last water heater was a 75 gallon model and the kids have grown up and moved away. A water heater booster can be installed along with a much less expensive 50 gallon model that often has a better manufacture warranty and when the kids come home for the holidays. There will still be plenty of hot water available.

New Water Heaters Are Larger
With new energy efficiency standards introduced in 2015. Newer hot water tanks are 2 or more inches larger than the tanks they will be replacing. Many homeowners will find themselves making an unwanted decision to downsize their water heater. This is especially true for water heaters installed in closets and laundry rooms.
A water heater booster is often a perfect solution for this scenario and often will result in having more hot water available than the larger model could have produced without a booster installed.

Boosters Can Give An Electric Hot Water Tank The Performance of Gas
It is not uncommon for us to have homeowners call in during the winter months. Unhappy with their new electric water heaters performance. It is common to see homeowners unhappy with their tanks performance but since it still works, they just accept it. They simply believe since the tank is older, it just doesn't work as well as it should. Often that isn't the case. Electric tanks have much slower recovery rates than gas water heaters of the same size. A homeowner will often be disappointed when a new electric hot water heater doesn't produce hot water any faster than the old one did. Generally at 50 gallon electric tank is similar to a 30 gallon gas tank and a 80 gallon electric tank is similar to a 50 gallon electric tank. A water heater booster is often the prefect fit for a homeowner that is replacing an electric 50 gallon tank but really requires the performance of an 80 gallon electric hot water heater or a 50 gallon gas water heater. Since the jump in size from 50 to 80 gallons is much more expensive and has drastically fewer choices, a water heater booster can be the perfect fit!

Some Homes In Central Ohio Will Require A Tempering Device
At it's core, our booster is actually a thermal temperature control devise. If your home has an Aquatherm heating system. Your hot water tank is providing heat to your home. The Aquatherm unit simply takes hot water in and forces air over an internal heat exchanger to provide warm air throughout the home. Condos built by Qualstan Homes used Aquatherm systems and many are still in use today. In these systems it is important that water be heated over 140 degrees to eliminate the possibility of legionella bacteria being introduced into the home and the hotter water provides warmer air from the heat registers. In 2009 plumbing code changed and now requires homes that use hot water for heat to be protected by a thermal temperature device or ASSE 1017.

Hot Water Boosters Make Heating Water Safer
A water heater booster adds an additional method to control the temperature in your home's hot water system. This can certainty be useful in the event the gas control valve on the water heater malfunctions. With today's sophisticated controls, this is very unlikely but with a water heater booster you would have another layer of protection. Another issue often not talked about, our water use to be hotter. This was for good reason. It takes temperatures of at least 131 degrees to kill legionella bacteria in 5-6 hours time. It takes 151 degrees to kill it instantly and 140 degrees kills it in 5-6 minutes. This bacteria is unlikely to develop in your plumbing system under normal circumstances but if it does, 120 degree water won't kill it. Water heater manufactures decreased the recommend temperature after the hot coffee incident or actually the conclusion of the lawsuit. Plumbing code changed as well, 140 degree water can scald in less than 3 seconds, 120 degree water takes 5 minutes to scald. It is a remarkable difference. With a booster or tempering device, you get the ability to kill legionella bacteria will still providing your entire home with 120 degree hot water that is much safer for you and your family.

A water heater booster can be added to any tank at the time of installation for an additional $350
